Brief History
Jardin de las Niñas Program and Training Center is one of the Regional Centers of the Girl Scouts of the Philippines . Jardin de las Niñas which means “A Garden for Girls” is dedicated to all Girl Scouts particularly those from Western Mindanao Region. It serves as the nerve center of Girl Scouting events of the region.
The 5.29 hectares Center can be found in Barangay Cabatangan, a hilly area where one has a panoramicview of the City of Zamboanga . It is 5 kilometers from the airport and 7 kilometers from the City proper.
The Center is simply yet comfortably furnished. It is a home away from home. It has light and water and is accessible to transportation. Facilities includes 3 conference halls, 1 of which is air-conditioned, dormitory, 2 air conditioned guestrooms for 18 persons, 14 huts which can accommodate 10 persons each.
The place is peaceful and secured. It is fenced and is surrounded with trees planted by the Girl Scouts. It's a perfect place for training, conferences and campings. The campsite's rolling terrain can accommodate more than 1,000 campers.
The GSP Western Mindanao Region holds office in a two storey Administration building found in the Center.
